Thrilled to have a show in the gallery at The 567 Center in #downtownmacon.
Set to open First Friday, August 4, I’ll be sharing recent paintings completed in my new studio. Piece Work is born out of a desire to reconstitute various remnants and threads stuffed and found in the corners of my mind, studio, and eyes. Influences are wide ranging, including a lace curtain, Hurricane Michael, the Odyssey and more.
Figuring out a common thesis in my work has always been ornery, I either lean and/or retreat to Kierkegaard’s position: ‘Once you label me, you negate me.’ It’s complicated.

This exhibition is an accumulation of thinking, processes, subject matter, and influences. I am excited to share these paintings with new and familiar folks, and especially to be able to participate again as an artist on a First Friday in Macon. Over the years sharing work during these evenings has provided me invaluable insight. Everyone is invited to come, put eyes on these things, and let me know what you think.
I will share a few before the opening and tell some stories. I’ll drop a couple here, feel free to let me know what you think. Grateful for this opportunity and the chance to hang them on a wall for others to enjoy. See y’all August 4.

Yo EO! Awesome work, as always! I wish I could make it down there, but — alas — will be getting prepped for new semester. Hope the show goes well and you sell, sell, sell!
